About

PSI Parents (PTO) coordinates many enrichment programs, organizes fundraisers, and plans community events at Park Spanish Immersion School.  Everyone is automatically a part of PSI Parents.  Whether you have 5 minutes or 5 hours, there are ways you can help.  Contact psivolunteers@gmail.com for more information.

Our PSI Parents benefit our school in three main ways:

  • First, the PSI Parents support and enhance the family/school connection by organizing events that benefit the school’s students and their families.
  • Second, the PSI Parents reach out to the community by supporting community-wide projects and participating in the District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC).
  • Third, the PSI Parents organize fundraising. We have two main fundraisers each year: the Leer (Read)-A-thon, and Carnival, which is an event for the whole family.  Both events support learning at our school by funding the Amity Intern Program, literacy initiatives, staff appreciation, scholarships and more.

What are the Amity Interns?

Amity interns are native Spanish speaking young adults who assist the teachers in the classrooms providing opportunities for smaller group instruction, modeling the Spanish language, and teaching about their cultures. They are vital to the success of the immersion program, enriching and enhancing the experience for all students. The cost to bring the amity interns to PSI is supported entirely by funds raised by the PSI Parents.
