Leer-a-ton!

Leer-a-ton Starts FRIDAY the 13th!!!!

It’s that time of the year again… Leer-a-ton!  This is PSI PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and a fun way to celebrate the joy of reading. This year we are hoping to raise a record $25,000 which will help support all of the PTOs events and our wonderful Amity Intern Program. Check your childs’ backpacks today for the Leer-a-ton flier to track the minutes your student reads, is read to, or listens to audiobooks.  Then ask family, friends and neighbors to sponsor their reading with a donation to the PTO. Prizes will be given to top readers in each grade and classes with the most minutes read. Be sure to join us for Amity Storytime and Cozy Reading on Thursday, October 26th, from 5:30-7:30. Bring your own books, or grab a few at the book fair, which will be open that night! Check out the flier in English here or in Spanish here

Some of the tickets for the activities sell out quickly!

Skip making dinner Wednesday!

The PSI Pizza Siren will sound to remind you to put in an order and raise a few bucks for PSI.
Last school year, Parkway Pizza donated over $900 to PSI PTO as part of its Dine Out for Schools program to give back to the community. Parkway donates 5% of sales on the first Wednesdays of the month to PSI. Dine-out, delivery, or carry-out. It all counts! No code needed.
Want to participate but need a reminder? Whenever you hear the MN Tornado Siren Test at 1pm on the first Wednesday of each month, know that all orders that day earn money for PSI PTO!

Math Night is Back!

The PSI PTO is excited to host Math Night for families on Thursday, February 9th from 6-7:30 pm in the gym. Stop by for a night of fun math games and activities such as Quick Chess, Mancala, Towers of Hanoi, Code Breaker, Chances Are, Money Bingo and more! This event is an opportunity to build student enthusiasm for math and offer caregivers a few ideas of how they can support math skills at home.

Math Night is sponsored by Mathnasium of St Louis Park. Volunteers may be needed to run activity stations and help with set-up and tear down of the event. If you are interested in volunteering, look for more information next week.

WHAT TO DO WITH THE KIDS DURING THE SNOW STORM AND WINTER BREAK?

The 2023 PSI Science and Imagination Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 6:00-7:30 pm in the PSI gym.

The goal of the Science and Imagination Fair is to encourage all families to participate and nurture our children’s love of science and imagination! Keep in mind that projects do not have to be a science project either.

Past projects have included catapults, test plants and sculptures, to name a few. Winter break is a great time for your child to begin working on their project. Each child will have half a table to display their project.

The gym will be open as early as 4:00 pm the day of the fair for participants to begin setting up. For those wishing to register their child, please use the link located at:

We look forward to seeing you all on January 17 and what your children create for the fair.
