Leer-a-tòn: The PSI read-a-thon and fundraiser held each fall to inspire kids to read and raise money for the PSI Amity Intern Program. Organizers decide themes, prizes, prepare marketing materials, tally winners, and count collections.
Scholastic Book Fair: In-person and Online book fair held once a semester. Many volunteers needed to set-up, take-down, run registers, and organize special events like Amity Storytime.
Carnival: A PSI Community Event held in May at PSI. Organizers will book food trucks, inflatables, and games, create marketing materials, organize volunteers, work with a DJ, and many other tasks to make this a memorable end-of year event.
Science and Imagination Fair: Held each January at PSI to inspire a love for science and creativity in our students! Organizers prepare marketing materials, identify community members as “judges”, set-up, tear-down, and assist with the event.
Math Night: Held each February at PSI to inspire a love for mathematics. Coordinators reserve a math specialist, prepare marketing materials, help with set up, and tear down.
Silent Auction: This PSI fundraiser is held each March. Funding supports teachers, students, Amity Interns, Artist in Residence programs, and community-building events. The team solicits donations from businesses, runs the auction website, distributes auction items, organizes Amity intern buy-ins, and prepares marketing materials. Many volunteers are still needed.
Yearbook Team: This team will collect teacher photos, photograph important school events, and create the PSI yearbook. A photographer is needed for the 2023-24 school year.
Staff Appreciation: Staff Appreciation Week is the first week of May. The team will organize and facilitate a teacher lunch, custodial dinner, and daily treats to show our gratitude for all the PSI teachers and staff do for our children!
Lost & Found: The team maintains and organizes the PSI Lost & Found, including the washing and final donation of unclaimed items at the end of the year.
Lunchroom Volunteer: Sign-up to help students in the lunchroom. Volunteers needed daily. Shifts are 1 hour.
Room Parent: Each September, teachers need 2-3 parents to sign up as Room Parents for their classroom. Responsibilities include planning 3 fiestas, emailing parents of important PTO events, and offering assistance as requested for grade level specific events, like 5th Grade Celebration of Learning or Artist in Residence programs.
