Meals during February Connect Times

The February teacher-parent Connect Times are around the corner. Providing meals for our amazing staff at PSI is a great way to show them how much we appreciate all they do for our kids. Connect Times are scheduled for Thursday, February 16, and Friday, February 17.

We are doing a hybrid cater/pot-luck style. Thursday will be a Taco/Burrito Bar and Friday, a brunch with bagel sandwiches and salads. Both will be buffet-style so that staff can pop in to serve themselves during a break in conferences.

Please consider signing up below to either supplement a meal, volunteer your time, or contribute money towards a catering order. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY! The staff is always so grateful to parents for this special treat!

Lost & Found

Please come check the racks of Lost & Found for your child’s missing items. Volunteers will be going through all items at the end of February. They’ll collect, wash and donate usable unclaimed items to STEP around March 1.

Remember to LABEL all our child’s items (i.e. water bottle, boots, sweatshirts, shoes, jackets, etc.) so we can return them to you.

FAQ

Lunchroom Volunteer Opportunities are Back!

We would love to have you come help our students in the cafeteria this year.  Tasks will include things such as, helping to open tricky food packages, handing out extra napkins or utensils, and wiping down tables.

A maximum of two volunteers are requested for each time slot; there are two time slots per day, 11-noon and noon-1pm.

Feel free to sign up for one or both hours. Volunteers need to be parents or legal guardians. This is a fun way to get into the school and help out!

Lost & Found Clear Out!

Our Lost & Found is overflowing. Please take a moment to look through and claim items that belong to your child(ren). You’ll find the Lost & Found in the hallway between the media center and the gym (by door #2). Any remaining items will be donated at the end of January.

And as a reminder, please be sure to label everything so that items left behind can find their way home again!

Girls on the Run – Coaches Needed

We are looking for 1-2 volunteer coaches for Girls on the Run (GOTR) this spring in order to have a GOTR team for our 3rd-5th grade girls. Please contact Jacey Cassem at jaceycassem@gmail.com by January 15 for more info.

Skip making dinner Wednesday!

The PSI Pizza Siren will sound to remind you to put in an order and raise a few bucks for PSI.
Last school year, Parkway Pizza donated over $900 to PSI PTO as part of its Dine Out for Schools program to give back to the community. Parkway donates 5% of sales on the first Wednesdays of the month to PSI. Dine-out, delivery, or carry-out. It all counts! No code needed.
Want to participate but need a reminder? Whenever you hear the MN Tornado Siren Test at 1pm on the first Wednesday of each month, know that all orders that day earn money for PSI PTO!

School Closed Wednesday, Jan 4

Due to the current dangerous weather conditions, we are making changes to our previous announcement and all St. Louis Park Public Schools buildings will be closed today. The roads are icy due to freezing rain, and additional snow is forecasted throughout the day.

This closure includes all schools, KidsPlace, Transition Plus, all after school activities and Community Education programming and aquatics.

Stay tuned to slpschools.org for the latest information. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility with this information. Please stay safe.

WHAT TO DO WITH THE KIDS DURING THE SNOW STORM AND WINTER BREAK?

The 2023 PSI Science and Imagination Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 6:00-7:30 pm in the PSI gym.

The goal of the Science and Imagination Fair is to encourage all families to participate and nurture our children’s love of science and imagination! Keep in mind that projects do not have to be a science project either.

Past projects have included catapults, test plants and sculptures, to name a few. Winter break is a great time for your child to begin working on their project. Each child will have half a table to display their project.

The gym will be open as early as 4:00 pm the day of the fair for participants to begin setting up. For those wishing to register their child, please use the link located at:

We look forward to seeing you all on January 17 and what your children create for the fair.
