PSI is thrilled to be joining the movement, 2016 Kindness in Chalk: An Anti-Bullying Movement (Started by an SLP Mom)! On October 3rd, PSI will join hundreds of schools in this movement to spread kindness by covering the sidewalks and playground at PSI with positive words, phrases, quotes and images that speak of love, peace, hope and acceptance with the intention of bringing smiles to the faces that need it the most during National Bullying Awareness Month. We are hoping this can be a surprise for the students. Can you help spread chalk love on Sunday, Oct. 2nd? Sign up to help on the signup genius here.

Curious what your kiddos are up to all day?  Come volunteer in the lunchroom and find out!  Help hand out silverware and napkins, sanitize tables and visit with the kids.  Volunteer shifts are an hour long and super fun!

Mark your calendars now!  PSI Parents are hosting a number of great events this year.  Fiestas are tentatively scheduled for October 14, 2016; December 20, 2016 & February 24, 2017.  Check with your room parent for more details.

Bring the whole family to enjoy a night of gym games!

Families will meet in the gym where gym teacher, Chris Watkins, will lead the group in a variety of high energy games! If face paced isn’t your thing then head downstairs to the activity room where yoga instructor, Megan Thompson, will lead a series of four, 10 minute yoga demos geared towards elementary age children. There will be a healthy snack provided at the end of the night.

Please come have fun with the PSI community and help raise money to support the Amity Program. Carnival is on Saturday, March 5th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at PSI.

There will be carnival games, face painting, photo booth, inflatables, silent auction, and food.

Invitations will be sent home in students’ backpacks in early February.

We are still in need of volunteers to help solicit donations for the silent auction. If you are interested in helping, please contact Tobi Kreifels at tobikreifels@gmail.com.

The fair continues to be a celebration of student imagination as well as creative and scientific thinking, with less focus on scientific facts and known outcomes . Our hope is that the kids use their creative thinking to challenge the world around them in whatever facet speaks to their strengths and personality.

We are excited to announce the 15th annual Imagination and Inventor’s Fair (previously known as Science and Imagination Fair). The name was changed to better reflect the goal of the fair, creative thinking and problem solving.

The fair continues to be a celebration of student imagination as well as creative and scientific thinking, with less focus on scientific facts and known outcomes . Our hope is that the kids use their creative thinking to challenge the world around them in whatever facet speaks to their strengths and personality.

An even bigger and exciting change is online registration: Imagination and Inventor Fair Registration

It’s time to turn in those reading time sheets, pledge forms and money raised for Leer-a-ton.

The student body was challenged to read 320,000 minutes and raise $16,000.  If the student body met these goals, Sr. Maslowski will suit up in SLP football gear and pads for the December assembly – Game on!

Remember the funds go to support the PSI Amity Intern Program and are tax deductible. 

Do you love to bake?  Are you looking for an easy way to volunteer?  How about bringing our wonderful teachers some treats on Tuesdays?

Monday, November 2nd is the last day of the Leer-a-ton.  Time sheets and pledge cards are due November 3-6th. Each student’s goal is to read 360 minutes and raise $50.  Thank you for supporting the Amities in our annual fund drive.  Let’s see just how far we can go!  Happy Reading!
