School Spirit Tastes Great

Make dinner a selfless act by joining us for a fundraiser to support Park Spanish Immersion School.  Come in to the Chipotle at 5480 Excelsior Blvd in St Louis Park on Tuesday, October 20th between 5:00pm – 9:00pm.  Show it on your smart phone or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Park Spanish Immersion School.

Welcome Amity Interns!

We have eight Amity Interns at PSI for the 2015-2016 school year who are adding valuable assistance in classrooms, sharing their culture and Spanish Language skills with our students.  For introductions, please read:  2015/2016 Amity Interns and Host Families

Family Literacy Event – Tues, Oct 13th at 6:30

Bring a blanket, and come listen to a local children’s author in the PSI Gym on Tuesday, October 13th 6:30-8:00pm.  Students attending this event will earn 40 minutes towards their Leer-a-Ton reading goal!!

Featured author Stephen Shaskcan (rhymes with trashcan) who focuses his art on children’s book illustrating; will entertain us all with singing some songs, coming up with new rhymes and reading some books.

The student body is challenged to read 320,000 minutes and raise $16,000 in support of the PSI Amity Scholar Program.

Kick off Leer-a-tón with our annual Book Character Parent Rally!

On October 14th – Help kick off Leer-a-tón with our annual Book Character Parent Rally! Even if you don’t have a costume, a book and 20 minutes is all you need to show your support! Some costumes provided – arrive early. Meet in front of door #2 (by flag pole) by 8 a.m. to greet students as they arrive, and show your support and love for reading!

Fall PTO Kick Off Meeting – 9/29

All PSI Families are invited to the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) Kick Off Meeting on Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center.

Learn more about way to volunteer at school, the PTO budget and fundraising, and school communications.  Also hear a principal update and presentation from SLP Schools Foundation.  Room Parent Orientation will take place at the conclusion of this event.

Baile Folklorico Dance Fall and Spring Enrollment Starts this Week!

Children in grades 2-5 are eligible to participate in PSI’s folkloric dance group, known as Baile Folklorico. Fall and Spring session sign up happens this week and is on a first come, first serve basis. Registration closes at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd.

The PSI Carnival Committee Thanks You

Park Spanish Immersion held a fun and successful school carnival on Saturday, March 8th. It was a night full of PSingo, facepainting, dancing and games helping to raise thousands of dollars to support our PSI Amity Program. We could not have done it without the many, many volunteers who sold tickets, donated silent auction items, ran games, and so much more! We also could not have raised $$$ without YOU! Thanks for playing, buying, jumping, and dancing!!!

PSI Carnival is this Saturday from 4:00 – 8:00!

The PSI Carnival is this Saturday at PSI from 4:00 – 8:00! A shuttle bus will be available from the St. Louis Park High School to PSI and back from 3:30 – 8:30. You can meet the shuttle bus on the 33rd street parking lot of the high school and in front of PSI for return to the high school. Remember to bring your neighbors, friends and family along to join the fun!!
